When Lukas Podolski and Robin Van Persie clashed, Arsenal fans were only ever going to side with zee German.
The Turkish Cup final was a battle of former Gunners as Podolski's Galatasaray took on RVP's Fenerbahce.
In fact, an actual physical battle between the two players almost occurred during the encounter when the pair had an altercation on the pitch shortly after the German striker grabbed the only goal of the game.
Both men left Arsenal under very different circumstances. Podolski's departure was very amicable with Gooners wishing him well as he went on loan to Inter Milan before joining the Turkish outfit on a permanent deal. Van Persie, on the other hand, left London to sign for bitter rivals Manchester United... so that break-up wasn't particularly smooth.
As you can imagine, when the two squared up to each other during the final, Arsenal fans were fully behind the 30-year-old Podolski.
Yep, let that sink in for a moment. Podolski, who played for Germany in Euro 2004 and the 2006 World Cup is just 30-years-old.
