Gordon has been linked with a £45m move to Newcastle
Anthony Gordon has told Everton that he won't return to the club as he tries to force through a move to Newcastle.
Gordon is wanted by the Magpies but Everton have reportedly agreed on a transfer fee of £40m for the 21-year-old, with another £5m in add-ons. The winger has missed the last three days of training, however, one of those was a planned absence.
The Toffees number 10 hasn't started a game since the mid-season World Cup break after suffering from a dip in form.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has remained tight-lipped on the situation and refused to give too much away after his side's Carabao Cup win against Southampton.
"I can tell you absolutely nothing. I've been preparing for this game for the last two days."

The 21-year-old has three goals this season and is keen to move to the North East as Newcastle continue to push for Champions League qualification.
Everton tried to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan but were beaten to his signature by Tottenham at the eleventh hour, despite completing a medical on Merseyside.
The Toffees are also hoping to confirm the appointment of a new manager this week. Sean Dyche is set to take over at Goodison Park, however, after talks with Marcelo Bielsa broke down.
