Alberto Moreno vows to not even celebrate scoring a winner in the Europa League final

Alberto Moreno's going to be a very conflicted man n Wednesday night.

Prior to joining Liverpool in 2014, the Seville-born full-back had spent the entirety of his career at Sevilla, signing for his hometown club as a 12-year-old. With Liverpool set to do battle against Sevilla in the Europa League final, Moreno told Marca that he is feeling very weird about the prospect of facing his old club on such a big stage. He went as far to say that he wouldn't be able to enjoy scoring a goal in the game, not even if it was the decisive one.

"Even if it was the winner, I wouldn't celebrate. Sevilla is my home, my city, I have friends and teammates there, it was the club that has made me a footballer." "For many reasons I couldn't and wouldn't celebrate. It might even make me cry with joy and sadness at the same time. It's all going to be very weird."

Despite still harbouring this connection with Sevilla, Moreno made it clear that his allegiances are with one club and one club only.

"I've always said that if Liverpool didn't win the Europa League then I'd wanted it to be Sevilla, Now we've got to this stage, I'd be lying if I said I wanted them to win. I belong to Liverpool and I want them to win with all of my being."

Well, considering he won the tournament with Sevilla in the 2013/14 season and they're the holders of the cup, it's easy for him to root for the club that's paying his wages this time.
