There will be no return trip to the RDS for former Leinster fly-half Jimmy Gopperth.
The Wasps 10’s appeal against a three-week ban for striking Leicester’s Mathew Tait was rejected on Thursday night, meaning the New Zealander will miss the English club’s Champions Cup opener against three-time Heineken Cup champions Leinster.
Appeal by Wasps over the length of the sanction given to Jimmy Gopperth has been dismissed by RFU. He's free to play again on 24 November.

Gopperth was yellow carded after a mid-air collision with Tait in their Premiership clash on Sunday and at a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday he was given a three-week ban for striking.
Having admitted the offence Gopperth subsequently appealed the sanction but he will now miss the chance to face his old team-mates.
The 32 year old made 59 appearances for Leinster between 2013 and last May. Wasps and Leinster are joined in a devilishly difficult Pool 5 by Bath and defending champions Toulon.
