Sean O'Brien teaches English Lion lyrics to a Richie Kavanagh classic

In the unlikeliest of friendships, Sean O'Brien and James Haskell have been rooming together in New Zealand.

Haskell has had nothing but words of praise for O'Brien since the start of the tour and to return the favour the Carlow native decided to teach his fellow Lion the lyrics to an Irish classic.

With a precious day off, the Leinster flanker took it upon himself to drill Haskell into knowing the words of My Girlfriend has a new iPhone.

For those [few] that don't know it, it certainly rivals Kavanagh's best work...

Posted on O'Brien's Instagram story, the 30-year-old calls Haskell "brutal" and "septic" during his rendition of the song.

O'Brien

Here is the chorus Haskell was trying to master:

'Oh my girlfriend has a mobile phone,
'Now we can never have a minute alone.
'The other night I asked her for a kiss,
'She said “Hang on now till I answer this”.'

The full video is up on Haskell's Instagram Strories so get it while it's hot.

Maybe that's the reason that Haskell didn't invite the Irish international to a sleepover with Anthony Watson, Liam Williams and Jonathan Joseph. The Anglo-Welsh trio snuggled up to watch a movie on a laptop thrown on top of an ironing board.

Bear Grylls would be proud.
