Police investigation continues after last Friday's arrest
It's been a tough week for Connacht rugby fans both on and off the pitch while Irish rugby supporters have been stunned by the events of last Friday night. After the Challenge Cup loss to Gloucester at Kingsholm, full-back Mils Muliaina was arrested after the game and taken into police custody.
It was confirmed in the hours afterwards that he was detained by police in connection with an alleged incident in Cardiff last month. He was subsequently released on bail by police on Saturday night, while further investigations into the matter continue.
Now this evening Connacht have spoken publicly about the arrest and speculation surrounding their player. In a statement from the province the former World Cup winner denies all allegations against him. The statement goes on to say that the former World Cup winner returned to Galway on Sunday, and will meet with Connacht rugby officials in the coming days to review the situation.
