Jacob Stockdale back as Ireland squad for Scotland game announced

Patrick McCarry

Jacob Stockdale

The Ulster fullback takes the place of Shane Daly.

Jacob Stockdale is back in the Ireland squad for this Sunday’s Six Nations clash with Scotland at Murrayfield.

Stockdale has been named as part of Andy Farrell’s 36-man squad for the game against the Scots, with Daly remaining with Munster. The 24-year-old started on the left wing for Ulster in their 38-19 defeat to Leinster, on Saturday.

The rest of the squad remains unchanged from the one that Farrell assembled on the week of the win over Italy. An IRFU release states:

‘Josh van der Flier will go through the graduated return to play protocols this week in Ireland camp while there were no significant injury concerns from the other 12 players who featured in the Guinness PRO14 fixtures over the weekend.’

The release states this is the squad for rounds four and five but, of course, additions will be permitted if Ireland pick up any injuries along the way.
