Irish rugby star offers three easily achievable fitness tips

Perfect pick-me-up

Patrick McCarry

You can’t have missed it. The days are getting shorter and summer is out the gap.

Ireland did not have much of a summer. While the sun was often hidden behind clouds, it was not hooping down with rain the whole time. And, as Billy Connolly once declared, “There’s no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing.”

We are slap bang in the middle of autumn but, thanks to Irish Rugby Sevens star Megan Williams, we have some tips to shake some life back in your limbs.

15-minute HIIT work-out

There’s few better ways to get you totally pumped, first thing.

High intensity interval training will get you up and going. It should only take 15 minutes but will have great effects that last all day.

Healthy (and crispy) chicken fajitas

Really simple to put together once you have your ingredients lined up.

COATING: Paprika, garlic powder, salts, mixed nuts (blended). Slice chicken breasts into strips, cover with coating and fry in pan using coconut oil and turning regularly.

SALSA: Oil, tomatoes, avocado, spring onion and lemon. Season with salt.

Place chicken pieces in fajita wrap, cover with salsa, spinach and cheese. Enjoy.

Get along to Move Energise Glow

Williams is involved in Move Energise Glow – Ireland’s newest health, fitness and wellness mini festival. The goal from the organisation behind the event is to provide ‘the perfect platform to inspire, motivate and encourage you to get active and excited about your health and fitness goals’.

Taking place on Saturday, October 14, the event will feature fitness classes, yoga, key-note speakers, food stalls, healthy treats and goodies.

If those four tips don’t get you up and going, nothing will.
