Toulon full-back Delon Armitage has been hit with a whopping 12-week ban by the EPCR, for verbally abusing Leicester fans during their Champions Cup meeting at the weekend.
The EPCR announced the suspension this evening, explaining that "during and after the match he was alleged to have conducted himself in an unsportsmanlike manner by making a number of comments to, or within earshot of, spectators using foul and abusive language and may have brought into disrepute the sport of rugby union".
It's the second disciplinary blow for the French and European champions today, following the news that Martin Castrogiovanni was hit with a suspended four game ban and €10,000 fine, for calling Leicester's Director of Rugby Richard Cockerill a 'f***ing c***'.
Arnitage, though, will be banned until March 5, with the EPCR initially imposong an eight-week ban, which was then increased to 12 weeks after they factored in the player's previous disciplinary record.
