X-Ray: Rory MacDonald’s nose is completely obliterated after epic war with Robbie Lawler

Contrary to popular belief, Rory MacDonald still has a nose after that ultra-violent loss to Robbie Lawler at UFC 189.

The Canadian was winning on the scorecards in the welterweight title fight until taking one stiff jab too many in the co-main event in Las Vegas.

Lawler cracked the challenger with a hard shot in the fifth round that sent MacDonald crashing down to the canvas clutching his face in agony. The referee intervened to award Lawler the TKO victory in a fight Dana White described as “the best of… ever” and MacDonald said was the greatest moment of his life.

After the bout had ended, it was obvious that MacDonald had been taken to the brink and had showed the heart of a lion to come so very close to claiming the belt.

MacDonald recently posted an X-Ray of his nose to Instagram, which really shows the impact Lawler’s cinder-block hands had on his face. As the man himself puts it, “the black lines aren’t supposed to be there”.
