There are certain nights when things take place that make fight fans think ‘did that really just happen?’
One such moment occurred on Saturday night in California when reigning Invicta bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger continued her remarkable win streak with a unanimous decision victory over Colleen Schneider in the main event of Invicta 17.
After 25 minutes of action, Evinger was exhausted and vomited the contents of her stomach into her corner’s bucket.

Following that not altogether unusual occurrence was a very unusual occurrence as Evinger locked lips with Invicta’s in-cage announcer Laura Sanko as she laughed about wanting to win MMA’s Moment of the Year.
Evinger, who is openly gay, was clearly going for the laugh with the unexpected meeting of mouths but the issue divided opinion on social media after the fight.
Sanko, a friend of Evinger, took to Twitter to clarify that she wasn’t offended but merely taken aback by the kiss.
