WATCH: SportsJOE’s 10 quickfire questions with Limerick atomweight Catherine Costigan

Fingers crossed that we see Catherine Costigan back in the cage in 2016.

The Limerick atomweight has had rotten luck in her career with regards to injuries, having gone through neck fusion surgery before sustaining a back injury in 2015.

Being unable to train fully has sidelined the 5-2 fighter for the foreseeable future and has ruled her out of the upcoming BAMMA 24 card.

Costigan became the first woman to fight on BAMMA when she lost to Celine Haga via submission in September of last year, just two months after making her Invicta debut in Las Vegas.

And despite being out of action, Costigan has pledged to do something very generous by selling tickets to next month’s BAMMA 24 event at the 3Arena, with a percentage of her commission going towards Cork City Children’s Hospitals who bring children suffering from cancer to Disneyland every year.

We got the chance to sit down with Catherine last week when she kindly answered the 10 quickfire questions that we ask all of the MMA stars we meet.

Tickets for BAMMA 24, which takes place on February 27 at the 3Arena, can be bought here and to learn more about Catherine or to help out with donations, you can visit her website at www.catherinecostigan.com
