Dustin Poirier has been looking like an unstoppable force since moving up to lightweight.

Poirier’s power proved too much for Bobby Green in UFC 199’s main card opener in the wee hours of Sunday morning.

Green had been been taunting the Diamond throughout the fight, goading him in by lowering his hands and talking smack. Poirier wasn’t put off by this and dropped his opponent with a huge early in the first round.

Miraculously, Green managed to get back to his feet and recover well enough to start running his mouth again, despite being on the verge of being finished. However, Poirier could smell the finish and eventually put Green away with another monstrous left hand, warning the TKO victory at 2:53 of the opening round.

The win marked Poirier’s fourth in a row, seeing him keep his pristine record since moving up to lightweight intact.

“I can’t say what he said, because my Mom asked me not to curse in the interview. He dropped profanities, saying I couldn’t punch. He should have brought a pillow,” Poirier said during his Octagon interview.
