Donald Cerrone isn't just a striker.

In the welterweight division, fighting Alex Oliveira at short notice, the 32-year-old proved some of the doubters wrong with what wasn't just a classy takedown, but a damn right scary submission. In frightening quick time too. The American moved his UFC record to 16-4 with this Fight Night 83 headline win and he needed barely two and a half minutes to do the damage. First up, he took the Brazilian down somewhat unexpectedly. This wasn't going to be a boxing match. Then, there was the choke. By Jesus, there was the choke and Oliveira didn't think twice about tapping out. Unfortunately, the referee seemed to think twice about intervening and stopping the fight but, regardless, it was a deserved win for Cerrone.
