Before and after

Like chalk and badly bruised cheese.

Conor McGregor’s opponents look and sound tremendously different before and after they share a 750 square foot Octagon with ‘The Notorious.’

To date, each man tasked with taking on the outspoken Irishman has been convinced that they had the tools necessary to take him out but, thus far, only one man in the UFC has been able to do so.

With confidence such an important aspect of the fight game, you can’t blame his opponents for talking trash and predicting a win in the lead-up to fight night

But in compilation form, it’s worth a chuckle watching how the attitudes change after feeling the weight of Conor McGregor’s left hand and a video of just that has been published on McGregor’s official YouTube page.

Here’s the best bits transcribed but, interestingly, there’s no sign of Nate Diaz in the video.

Diego Brandao before: Everybody has a mouth. Everybody talks how they want but I’ll be ready for this fight, Conor.
Diego Brandao after: I want to say thanks to Conor McGregor for doing what he said, finishing in the first round. Congratulations.

Dustin Poirier before: To tell you the honest truth, I’ve fought tougher guys.
Dustin Poirier after: He moves well. He’s hard to read and his timing’s different to everybody else. He moves differently. He’s good and he’s a great athlete.

Dennis Siver before: A lot of people think that it might be a mismatch but I don’t care. The UFC asked me to take on the fight and I will win.
Dennis Siver after: He can fight. He was actually better than me tonight. He was not just average, he was better.

Chad Mendes before: Conor, I’m going to fucking embarrass you, dude.
Chad Mendes after: He’s got power but he’s more accurate I’d say than anything.
