Taking out frustration

Jon Jones was intent to avoid missing out on one more minute of training after losing out on two days of gym time this week.

With three weeks to go until his long-awaited return to the Octagon, Jones was taken into custody on Tuesday morning and held for two nights at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Bernalillo County for violating his probation.

Jones admitted on The MMA Hour this week that he had received five tickets after being pulled over by a police officer in Albuquerque last week, a revelation that was followed by the publication of a video showing Jones involved in a heated exchange with the officer.

The former UFC light heavyweight champion was released on Thursday, after a judge added new stipulations to Jones’ probation and it didn’t take long for ‘Bones’ to return to action.

The pound-for-pound number one fighter in the world closed out a hectic day by working his striking with coach Brandon Gibson and posted the video with the caption Won’t let nothing disturb my peace. Right back to work.. Round five out of seven. Them Ramen noodles got me feeling right.”

Jones looks to recapture his 205 lbs belt when he meets Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23 in a rematch of their UFC 182 meeting.
