The Notorious steps out of the limelight in today’s UFC Embedded to give Tom Egan the floor

Egan, who was the first Irishman in the UFC, recounts a great anecdote about how he arranged the first meeting between McGregor and SBG coach John Kavanagh. Since then, Kavanagh has been McGregor’s main coach throughout his storied career which included winning two Cage Warrior’s world championships and four wins in the UFC.

Irish MMA legend Egan fought on the historic UFC 93 card in Dublin and, although he lost to John Hathaway on the night, it marked the first time an Irish fighter fought for the behemoth promotion. McGregor would later go on to become the first Irish fighter to record a win in the UFC. Egan is now McGregor’s training partner.

Also in the episode, Dennis Siver does a phone interview in which he goes into slightly more detail about his hatred of the poster boy of Irish MMA. Sunday night can’t come soon enough for these two warriors to slug it out inside the Octagon.
