Ben Rothwell is really up against it on Saturday night when he takes on former UFC and Pancrase champion Josh Barnett at UFC Fight Night Newark.
However, this won’t be the hardest fight Big Ben has had in his life, not a by a long shot.
The UFC recently released a video of the knockout artist telling his incredible life story. In the video, Rothwell details how he went from being an extremely athletic child to battling with obesity after a bout with spinal meningitis put him in a coma. He also recounts how he ended up in another coma in his teen when a drunk driver crashed into his car, killing his friend.
Rothwell began to grow obsessed with MMA and now, over 15 years after making his professional debut, he’s on the cusp of fighting for the UFC title.
