A hard-earned triumph.
Dustin Poirier ended the unbeaten run of Ireland’s Joseph Duffy in the UFC last night but he certainly had to pay a hefty price.
Both men ended up bloodied and battered following their UFC 195 dust-up, which the American took on a unanimous decision, and Poirier admitted that Duffy’s boxing ability had taken its toll on his face, including a double break of his nose.
‘My nose for sure is broken,’ the 26-year-old said. ‘My nose is crushed.’
‘My palate… My two front teeth are a little numb feeling, I don’t know if that’s from my nose or my palate, but I’ve got a good bit of blood in the back of my throat.’
