VIDEO: First UFC 196 Embedded drops and Conor McGregor is feeling the burn

Mere days away

Patrick McCarry

No sign of Nate Diaz in the first of the event’s Embedded series.

As we join Conor McGregor, he has had two breakfasts and is still hungry for more; the animal.

The Notorious is once again working on movement with coach Ido Portal ahead of the arrival of his head coach at Straight Blast Gym, John Kavanagh.

McGregor has Artem Lobov for company as he sweats and twists himself ragged at Nono’s Hapkido Karate School on Hermosa Beach, California.

“I’ve put a lot and lot of rounds in,” he says, “boxing rounds, kickboxing rounds, wrestling, grappling rounds, preparing for this fight.”

The reward is another one of those juicy steaks McGregor has spoken so glowingly about. “Keep the body lose, keep the body sharp and put this man away,” he remarks.

Elsewhere, Holly Holm has some errands to do after a chance meeting with Jon Jones at a coffee shop. Miesha Tate, her opponent at UFC 196, goes for a night-time run and shadow boxes as Travis Calanoc, her teammate, prepares a healthy salad and riffs about olives.

Thank God for McGregor.
