Conor McGregor believes the biggest threat to his featherweight belt needs to improve his promotion skills.

The Notorious was speaking to Ariel Helwani with Fox Sports prior to his UFC 196 headline bout against Nate Diaz.

The number one featherweight contender was in the studio while McGregor was being interviewed and the Notorious was given the opportunity to speak directly to Edgar via video link. McGregor gave him some advice on how to earn his red panty night.

“Quit whining, quit complaining…quit having your manager talk for you. Get in and make interest because there’s no real interest from me to fight. There’s so much bigger fighters. Any of the guys making noise, not to complain and whine and that’s what I hear from that camp.”

Edgar has been campaigning for a fight against McGregor for a long time, but solidified his position as the number one contender in the 145 lb division by scoring a first round knockout against Chad Mendes last December.
