Sticking up for his Team Alpha Male buddy.

One of the highlights, outside the octagon, in The Ultimate Fighter 22 was Cody Garbrandt leaping from his bleacher seat and doing a bull-run at Conor McGregor.

‘What you going to do?’ McGregor goaded after declaring TJ Dillshaw was a snake in the grass that would betray rival TUF coach Urijah Faber.

Garbrandt charged for the metaphorical red flag and had to be pulled away from McGregor.

As it turned out, McGregor had Dillashaw’s number. By the time the series had aired, the [former] bantamweight champion had left Team Alpha Male.

According to Garbrandt, the flare up is well in the past. He says:

“I talked to Conor; I talked to him right after. [The beef] is squashed.

“I was like ‘Whatever’. The media blows it up to be more than it was.”

Garbrandt fights Augusto Mendes on Sunday at UFC Pittsburgh. He was due to take on John Lineker until the Brazilian was struck down with dengue fever.

Asked, via Periscope, for his UFC 196 main event headline, Garbrandt plucks for McGregor to defeat lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos.
