VIDEO: Ben Rothwell kills it on Twitter after UFC Dublin’s main event was scrapped

Big Ben speaks the truth

There’s never a dull day in the UFC.

The UFC Dublin card was initially very exciting, but it has now been left a hollowed out husk after both the co-main and main event fights were scrapped due to injuries.

Top heavyweight Ben Rothwell was scheduled to fight in the co-headliner against Stipe Miocic, but that fight was removed from the card after Miocic suffered an injury in training. On Wednesday night, fans were hit with the crushing news that Joseph Duffy had also pulled out of the headline bout against Dustin Poirier with an injury.

The UFC could not organise replacement fighters for either bout and as result the event is now down it’s two biggest fights. Rothwell, who traveled to Dublin despite the fact he’s no longer fighting on the card, really encapsulated how the “luck of the Irish” ran out this time around.

Big Ben then updated the events poster in the wake of the new-look card.

The knockout artist then took a swipe at the UFC’s matchmakers, which was a direct response to Miocic being booked for a co-main event slot against Andrei Arlovski at UFC 195. Rothwell was clearly unhappy that the man who pulled out with injury had received a match-up he had actively been campaigning for since Miocic’s injury news had broken.

When Roy Nelson interjected, Rothwell explained why he chose to come to Ireland.

Finally, Rothwell shared a video interview he did with MMA Junkie in which he explained his thoughts on an overall disappointing couple of weeks.
