Aisling Daly is a straight-up beast.

The Dublin strawweight put it all on the line but fell at the last hurdle in her quarter-final bout against Jessica Penne that was broadcast overnight.

Daly (14-5) took a close first round after her forward movement and pressure punching had Jessica Penne (11-2) on the back foot towards the end of the first five minutes.

It was a Penne takedown in the second that won the American the round which sent the fight to sudden victory as Ais “The Bash” came up just short.

The decisive round was also decided by a Judo throw after Daly’s forward movement left her open for a takedown and Penne was awarded the decision victory.

Prior to the broadcast of this fight, Daly spoke to SportsJOE about her time in The Ultimate Fighter house and she revealed that her next “official” fight would be taking place on the finale of this season of TUF which takes place in Vegas on 12 December although her opponent is yet to be revealed.

In such a competitive division which is brand new to the promotion, the title and contention picture will take at least a year to fully settle so expect to hear Aisling Daly’s name rumbling around the 115lb weight class for some time to come.
