UFC’s Teruto Ishihara insists he doesn’t enjoy MMA and only fights to get women

"I don't want to fight!"

Teruto Ishihara is an interesting fellow.

While most fighters get involved in mixed martial arts to make money or challenge themselves or cultivate a legacy in the sport, Ishihara fights for one reason and one reason alone.

Women!

There is literally no other incentive for the Japanese featherweight to compete and he has made no secret of his borderline obsession with the fairer sex.

UFC 196: McGregor v Diaz

A trawl through the 25-year-old’s social media accounts will let you know in no time at all about Ishihara’s fondness for female company.

And in an interview with Yahoo Sports ahead of his upcoming bout with Horacio Gutierrez, Ishihara has revealed just how much he prioritises the ladies in his life.

“I don’t like MMA,” Ishihara said. “I don’t like boxing. I don’t like wrestling. I don’t like grappling. I like only [women]. I don’t want to fight. I really don’t. I’m not trying to get fans or be different from anyone else. I don’t want to fight.

“I do this because it’s the best way I know of to get girls. If you fight, and you get the knockout, you get the girls. That’s my thing, getting the girls.”

UFC Fight Night: Barnett v Nelson

Ishihara, who earned his first UFC win with a knockout victory over Julian Erosa at UFC 196, brings everything around to the subject of females and insists that his whole life is based around experiencing “as many women in the world as I can.”

“MMA is something I shine in and when I’m fighting is when I look my best,” he continued. “I think I’m most attractive to girls when I’m doing this. If I thought I was good at something else that would get the girls to pay attention to me, I’d do that.

“If I thought soccer was that thing, I’d do soccer. Singing, I’d sing. I’d even do a cooking show if it brought me the girls.”

Whatever makes you happy, Teruto.
