UFC Unstoppable: Dana White announces four months of UFC fight cards

The recent injury curse of the UFC would suggest that its anything but ‘Unstoppable’ but, hey, it’s a cool name.

UFC president Dana White headed up Friday afternoon’s press conference from Las Vegas where he announced the next four months of fights.

Ahead of the weigh-ins for UFC 196, White was joined by some of the biggest stars on the roster with six undisputed champions in attendance.

A bulked up Jon Jones was also there, with the belt he never lost, as were the likes of fan favourites Ben Rothwell and Khabib Nurmagomedov

With UFC 200 set to be the biggest fight card in the promotion’s history, White brought us right up to the historic July 9 event with the confirmation of ten events in the lead-up.

UFC Fight Night 86: In Zagreb, Junior dos Santos and Ben Rothwell headline the April 10 card in what looks to be a title eliminator for the heavyweight championship.

UFC on Fox 19: Khabib Nurmagomedov returns from his latest injury lay-off to take on Tony Ferguson on April 16 in Florida.

UFC 197: One of the cards of the year takes place on April 23 from Las Vegas as the long-awaited rematch between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier get top billing with a flyweight title fight between Demetrious Johnson and Henry Cejudo acting as co-main event. Other exciting bouts on the card are Anthony Pettis vs. Edson Barboza, Robert Whittaker vs. Rafael Natal and Yair Rodriguez vs. Andre Fili.

UFC Fight Night 87: The octagon returns to Europe once more on May 8 when Alistair Overeem goes toe-to-toe with teammate Andrei Arlovski in Rotterdam, Netherlands. Another monster heavyweight bout will take place in the co-main event as Stefan ‘Skyscraper’ Struve takes on Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva.

UFC 198: The UFC heavyweight title is on the line on May 14 in Curitiba, Brazil as Fabricio Werdum aims to defend his title against Stipe Miocic. Demian Maia vs. Matt Brown, Warlley Alves vs. Bryan Barberena and Patrick Cummins vs. Little Nog are also on the bill.

UFC on Fox 20:  No bouts were announced for the May 29 event but White revealed that it will take place in the U.S.A.

UFC 199: Two titles are on the line on June 4 from Los Angeles, California and they’re both rematches. Luke Rockhold looks to go 2-0 against Chris Weidman for the middleweight strap and we’ll see the completion of a trilogy between bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber.

UFC Fight Night 88: This one was confirmed at the eleventh hour as White revealed that Rory MacDonald was returning in his home country for a top welterweight clash with Stephen Thompson in Ottawa on June 18.

UFC Fight Night 89: A fight pass card was announced for the Thursday of this year’s international fight week with no bouts confirmed as of yet.

The Ultimate Fighter 23 finale: After the upcoming season of TUF, Joanna Jedrzejczyk will put her strawweight title on the line against Claudia Gadelha in a thrilling rematch at the finale of the series on July 8.

UFC 200: July 9, Las Vegas. We can’t bloody wait.
