Bad news for fans heading over to Las Vegas for UFC 202.

The August 20 event has lost one of its most intriguing match-ups as UFC officials confirmed on Tuesday that the welterweight contender clash between Carlos Condit and Demian Maia would no longer be a part of the card which will be headlined by Nate Diaz vs. Conor McGregor II. The fascinating stylistic tussle between two fan favourites at 170 lbs will now be contested a week later, as Condit vs. Maia has been confirmed as the main event of UFC on FOX 21 in Vancouver. https://twitter.com/UFC_CA/status/755528051266510853 Fight fans were thrilled when the bout was announced as Condit had previously hinted that he was considering retirement unless he got an immediate rematch for the title, while Maia is a baffling puzzle for anybody to solve. The switch also means that the fight turns from a three rounder to five rounds, which one would imagine would be an advantage for Condit who tends to turn it on late in fights. UFC on Fox: Live Heavyweight Championship It will come as a blow to UFC 202 but the August 20 event is stacked enough to survive, with the current card looking like this.
