Not ideal preparation for his scheduled return to the Octagon.
Jon Jones has been making headlines for the wrong reasons yet again, with the UFC star facing another date in court for a traffic offence.
‘Bones’ was stopped by police in New Mexico on January 31 and cited for driving without a licence, registration or insurance, according to KRQE News, and faces a court appearance on Wednesday.
The former light-heavyweight champion was stripped of his title last year after he fled the scene of a hit-and-run incident that left a pregnant woman with a broken arm.
Jones also has had well-documented troubles with alcohol and drug problems, and was convicted of drunk driving in 2012, but had been welcomed back into the UFC in recent months after apologising for his past transgressions and pledging that he was committed to staying on the straight and narrow.
He is scheduled to return to action at April’s UFC 197 pay per view to challenge Daniel Cormier for his former belt.
