The UFC have only gone and made one of the best title fights that they possibly could have

Bantamweight gold on the line

Darragh Murphy

Who is the best 135 lber in the world?

T.J, Dillashaw? All signs would point to him. Dominick Cruz? Without injury, there’s an argument for him. Renan Barao? Don’t be silly!

The UFC bantamweight belt currently lives around the waist of Team Alpha Male’s Dillashaw but, having never been dethroned, Cruz will finally get the chance to prove that he’s the undisputed champion when he meets Dillashaw at the start of 2016.

UFC president announced on Wednesday night that Dillashaw v Cruz will headline the Fox Sports 1 card on January 17 and it looks like being a barnburner.

Both fighters possess some of the best movement ever seen in all of mixed martial arts and will be something of a grudge match as Cruz has recently responded to suggestions that Dillashaw had stolen his style.

Speaking to TheMMAHour in July, Cruz said: “When I go out there, people will see T.J. Dillashaw is nothing but a wannabe, and I look forward to going out there and proving that I’m the best in the world.”

Dillashaw, meanwhile, was a guest on this week’s edition of Ariel Helwani’s show and he responded to the Dominator, saying: “I think I’ll finish Cruz faster than I finished Barao.”

With Weidman v Rockhold and Aldo v McGregor slated for December 12th’s UFC 194 and now Dillashaw v Cruz scheduled for January, we’re looking to seeing the best possible title fights in some of the promotion’s most competitive divisions.
