UFC photographer’s instructions to female fighter raise all sorts of questions

The clip ended before we got to see her reaction

UFC Chile’s co-main event between Tatiana Suarez and Alexa Grasso is certainly worth watching.

We identified both Tatiana Suarez and Alexa Grasso as two of UFC strawweight prospects to watch in 2018. So on Sunday morning, you will have a chance to watch them fight for the first time this year. They will provide the main support act for the welterweight dual between Kamaru Usman and Demian Maia.

The weigh-ins are complete and the media obligations have been fulfilled. All that remains is the fight itself. However, a clip from Suarez’s pre-fight photoshoot has been doing rounds on the internet. It has people asking questions of the practice.

The incident was documented in Episode five of Anatomy of a Fight Night Santiago. A UFC photographer could be heard giving Suarez instructions from off-screen. His explanation for the positioning of her arms raised a few eyebrows.

“So we’re going to cross your arms and just do this. This down and just come under. Yeah, that’s perfect right there. That way we can still see the UFC and your assets a little bit.”

It’s important to note we have yet to hear Suarez’s take on the photographer’s comments. The clip cuts before we get the chance to see her reaction.
