For those of you who wondered who Ronda Rousey’s next test would be, wonder no more.

Rousey (11-0) has been tasked with the undefeated Bethe “Pitbull” Correia for the latest defence of her UFC women’s bantamweight title.

UFC president Dana White made the announcement during the press conference for UFC 189 at which featherweight champion Jose Aldo and challenger Conor McGregor were present.

Rousey v Correia will take place on August 1 at UFC 190 in Rio de Janeiro and many believe that the Brazilian is the perfect challenge for Rousey after the judoka dismantled Cat Zingano in her last defence at UFC 184.

The matchup is made all the more intriguing based on the fact that Correia (9-0) has been very vocal about her desire to take out the so-called “four horsewomen of MMA” which includes Ronda Rousey and her training partners.

“I understand Bethe’s tactics, and I understand why she went about things the way that she did, but just because I understand it doesn’t mean it’s OK,” Rousey said. “The fact is, in order to get a title shot as quickly as possible, she disrespected my friends, which I consider my family. And if you fuck with my family, you are fucked.”
