We kicked up a bit of a stink when the former title challenger Ali Bagautinov was released by the UFC, and up until the last second of his first fight for his new promotion, we felt pretty vindicated. Prior to returning to the cage at Fight Nights Global 64 on Friday night, the Russian only had three losses in his last 14 professional bouts. Even at that, those defeats came to arguably the greatest of them all Demetrious Johnson, perpetual number one contender Joseph Benavidez and, a fighter who many had pegged to become the best 125 lber in the world some day, Kyoji Horiguchi. None of these elite warriors could finish him and he heard the final buzzer in every one of his losses... that is, until he met Tyson Nam (15-8-1) . Nam was heading towards a decision loss and he desperately needed a Hail Mary finish to upset the odds and take home the victory. Remarkably, his prayer was answered as he scored a phenomenal head kick knockout to beat the buzzer in the final round. He unloaded a holy head kick from hell that landed on the button in the last second of the fight and from there it was TIMBEEEER, as Bagautinov went crashing down to the canvas in a heap.
