PIC: Reebok’s controversial Ireland T-shirt went back on sale on Christmas day

Oh, Reebok

Darragh Murphy

Here we go again!

It seems that Reebok learned absolutely nothing after the furore they caused by releasing a controversial t-shirt earlier this year.

Irish fight fans were left outraged in October when the sports apparel giant left Northern Ireland out of their depiction of the island on the front of a t-shirt with the tagline “show your UFC territorial allegiance.”

SBG head coach John Kavanagh led the push back, threatening to pull out of his gym’s recent deal with Reebok if the t-shirts weren’t removed immediately.

They were taken down from the website and Reebok apologised for the move but, bizarrely, they reappeared on Christmas Day at a discount price.

Presumably they have plenty of t-shirts to shift but it’s wishful thinking if they believe that everyone’s just forgotten about this.

We anxiously await to see what Kavanagh makes of the move.
