Patrick Holohan becomes the third Irish man to be added to UFC Glasgow

The takeover continues

It’s a battle of Ireland vs England in the latest fight to be added to UFC Fight Night 72.

Patrick Holohan (11-1) will face English fighter Vaughan Lee (14-10-1) on the first ever Scotland-based UFC event.

The Hooligan is 2-1 inside the Octagon and enters this bout off the back of a dominant decision victory over Shane Howell at UFC Boston.

While highly experienced Lee is 3-4 in the UFC, and has faced some marquee names including current bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, flyweight contender Chris Cariaso, Raphael Assuncao and most recently Iuri Alcantara. Admittedly, he lost all those bouts, which sparked his decision to drop down to flyweight for his debut against the Dubliner.

Holohan will join fellow compatriots Joseph Duffy and Paul Redmond on the card. Duffy squares off against Ivan “Batman” Jorge, while Redmond will be looking to bounce back after his tough decision loss to Misrad Bektic by dispatching of Robert Whiteford in the lions den.

UFC Fight Night Glasgow takes place on the 18th July 2015 at the Hydro Arena in Glasgow.
