Newly signed UFC lightweight calls out Artem Lobov, who responds with “I don’t turn down fights”

War of words

Artem Lobov has the little matter of Chris Avila on the horizon but, already, he’s being offered another fight.

The offer has not come from Sean Shelby or Joe Silva but rather from the newest arrival to the UFC’s lightweight division, Marc Diakiese.

It was announced on Thursday that the world’s biggest mixed martial arts organisation had signed BAMMA’s Lonsdale lightweight champion Diakiese to a multi-fight deal and the Brit knows exactly who he wants to face in his promotional debut.

The undefeated Diakiese took to Twitter on Saturday night to issue a call-out to Lobov, whose next fight is slated for UFC 202, citing some history with the SBG fighter.

It didn’t take long for ‘The Russian Hammer’ to respond by claiming he would not turn down any fight.

Diakiese replied confidently and took a swipe at Lobov’s friendship with the UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

But, using the oldest trick in the book, Lobov corrected a grammatical error before issuing a stern warning to his potential future opponent.

Diakiese continued the war of words into Saturday night.

This one looks set to run and run.
