We definitely wouldn’t call this Nate Diaz coming to the defence of Conor McGregor as much as it is Nate Diaz being Nate Diaz.

Diaz has taken aim at Khabib Nurmagomedov after the UFC lightweight champion claimed that McGregor would have to live with the shame of tapping out for the rest of his life.

The dig came in a social media post from Nurmagomedov which was in response to a lengthy McGregor Instagram statement against both the undefeated Russian and Paulie Malignaggi.

Diaz couldn’t help himself and hit out at ‘The Eagle’ by referencing a brawl between the fighters’ teams at a World Series of Fighting event in 2015.

The Diaz brothers are no strangers to fighting outside the Octagon and clashed with Nurmagomedov’s team in the crowd at Las Vegas’ Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino.

Diaz claimed that Nurmagomedov’s team “didn’t do shit” after he slapped the Russian and insisted that they would have to “live with that.”

Diaz has not fought since his decision defeat to McGregor in their rematch at UFC 202 in August 2016.

The Stockton lightweight was booked for a comeback clash with Dustin Poirier last November but the bout was cancelled after Poirier sustained an injury, provoking the below response from Diaz.
