Max Holloway isn’t happy about Dominick Cruz trying to jump the UFC featherweight queue

Fight! Fight! Fight!

After recording nine consecutive wins, Max Holloway is fed up of waiting for his title shot.

Since suffering back-to-back losses against Dennis Bermudez and Conor McGregor in 2013, Holloway began running through everyone the UFC has put in front of him including top contenders such as Cub Swanson, Jeremy Stephens and, most recently, Ricardo Lamas.

If it wasn’t for Conor McGregor losing to Nate Diaz and subsequently booking the rematch, Holloway would probably be in a training camp preparing for his first crack at the 145 lb belt right now.

However, that is not the case and, assuming the Notorious returns to defend his belt, Holloway will most likely have to wait to take on the winner of the title unification rematch between McGregor and interim champion Jose Aldo before he gets his shot.

And even then, if the sequel is in anyway close (or lucrative), you get the feeling that completing the trilogy as soon as possible would be on the cards.

Plus, there’s always the possibility that McGregor would win and subsequently ask for another chance to become a two-division champion by taking on whoever holds the lightweight belt.

There’s a lot of uncertainty about the future at the business end of the 145 lb division, but the consensus is that Holloway has done more than enough to earn the next title shot… after the next one.

That’s why when bantamweight king Dominick Cruz offered himself as part of the contingency plan should either McGregor or Aldo get injured and be forced to pull out of this unification fight that hasn’t even been booked yet, the Hawaiian didn’t react too well.

Holloway explained that he’s next in line, but if Cruz wanted to take his spot in the queue, he’d be willing to fight over it.

While there’s no real shortage of opponents for either of these guys while they wait for their red panty night with both divisions stacked full of interesting match-ups, who wouldn’t want to see that fight?
