Mark Hunt responds to “ridiculous” Brock Lesnar drug test exemption

"I’m going to knock him out"

Brock Lesnar’s getting special treatment from the UFC and Mark Hunt isn’t happy about it.

Aside from all that mess with Ariel, the big UFC news last weekend was that former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar would be returning to compete at UFC 200 after over four years away from the Octagon.

It then emerged that the WWE star was granted an exemption from the four-month written notice rule for un-retiring athletes under the USADA/UFC drug testing policy, which was met with some backlash from fans.

The man who’s been tasked with the job of welcoming the superstar back to the UFC, Mark Hunt, is also upset about Lesnar getting the waiver. He criticised the exemption, claiming it was unfair to the other fighters on the roster, in an interview with Fox Sports.

“I don’t think that’s fair. I think it’s load of bullshit, I think it’s rubbish. I don’t think anyone should be exempt from testing. If they’re trying to clean the sport up – mixed martial arts – this is a bad way to do it. I don’t care who you are. It’s ridiculous.”

“How are you going to clean the sport up doing that shit? It won’t happen. I don’t think it’s fair.”

Hunt Nelson

Knockout artist Hunt doesn’t think Lesnar’s exemption will impact on the outcome of the fight. He’s predicted that his heavy hands will hit home against the former champion, rendering him unconscious.

“I don’t think it’s a great move. I think he’s juiced to the gills and I still think I’m going to knock him out. So I don’t think that’s correct. I don’t think he should be allowed to get a four-month exemption otherwise everyone else should. Otherwise I should start juicing.”

Hunt revealed that he has spoken to UFC president Dana White about the matter, who assured him that the wrestling standout has been getting tested for PEDs. However, he still has his doubts about how clean he is.

“I’ve already voiced my opinion to (UFC boss) Dana (White) about it but apparently he has been getting tested but he’s probably been off a couple of cycles anyway.”

“Shucks. I don’t give a rats what you take. I’ll knock your face off, that’s what I’ll do. I’ll teach you for taking that shit anyway.”

You can see Lesnar return to the Octagon against Hunt at the landmark UFC 200 card on July 9.
