Kickboxing phenom Tyrone Spong reveals he wants to get on the UFC Dublin card

This would be huge

He may have just two professional mixed martial arts fights under his belt but there are few strikers more exciting and accomplished than Tyrone Spong.

MMA fans who don’t venture any further than the UFC may never have heard of the Dutchman but we assure you that he is the real deal.

The GLORY light heavyweight, who is 2-0 in pro boxing, has gone 74-7-1 in kickboxing bouts and, after training with the Blackzilians in Florida, he’s ready to continue his mixed martial arts career on the biggest stage of all.

Spong spoke to Jonathan Shrager of MixedMartialArts.com about his desire to fight on October 24th, when the UFC bring the octagon to Ireland for the third time.

“I really want to fight in Dublin,” Spong said. “I love Ireland and the fans love me over there.

“I guess they just like real fighters.”

While a stumbling block in the chances of seeing the 29-year-old in the UFC is the fact that he currently fights for a number of other organisations in both boxing and kickboxing, the Dutchman’s relationship with Dana White means that it’s far from an impossibility.
