22 years after their first meeting, Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie will throw down once more.
The pair of veterans first clashed at UFC 1 in 1993, a bout which Gracie won via rear naked choke before a 36-minute draw was fought out in a 1995 rematch.
And Shamrock, 51, revealed that he’s agreed to fight Gracie, 48, under the Bellator banner at Houston’s Toyota Centre next February.
The fight is set to be contested at openweight and, for those concerned that the fighters wouldn’t be granted a licence due to their age, it’s being reported that the Texas athletic commission have already approved the bout.
Gracie hasn’t fought since a decision victory over Kazushi Sakuraba in 2007 while Shamrock made an unsuccessful comeback to the cage at Bellator 138 in June when he was stopped by Kimbo Slice.
Slice has also been named on February’s Houston card where he will square off with his former bodyguard Dhafir “Dada 5000” Harris in the co-main event.
Say what you will about them but Bellator are certainly doing their utmost to get eyes on their product.
