It’s on!

Earlier today, we reported that speculation had zipped into overdrive about the possibility of Joseph Duffy [14-1] facing Dustin Poirier [18-4] at UFC Dublin, in October.

On Ireland AM, this morning, the Donegal native confirmed the bout.

‘Irish Joe’ is coming off two impressive wins since signing up with the UFC and has impressed the promotions top dogs. So much so that Duffy is now expected to headline the 3 Arena event later this year.

Speaking on TV3’s Ireland AM, Duffy was quizzed on his boxing past, beating Conor McGregor in 2010, cutting weight and how padded the UFC gloves really are.

Getting down to business after formalities, Duffy said, ‘I am headling against Dustin Poirier.

‘This will be the first time I am headlining an event and my opponent is ranked.’

Duffy added, ‘This is what I have been doing since I was five-years-old… I’ve been training all my life for this.’

The Donegal native then promised to bring back a UFC belt to TV3’s Ballymount studios.

No belts are on the line in October but Duffy will be targeting one in 2016.
