Jon Jones confronted by British heavyweight at health and fitness expo

Jones urged security not to hold Chi Lewis-Parry back

Chi Lewis-Parry must have attended the Shannon Briggs school of trash talk.

Briggs famously made Wladimir Klitschko’s life miserable by repeatedly seeking him out and talking smack directly to the Ukrainian heavyweight legend’s face.

Chi Lewis-Parry did something similar this week, when he crashed a Jon Jones appearance at a health and fitness event in England.

Lewis-Parry, who was brought in by Daniel Cormier to help him prepare for Jones in 2016, has had issues with ‘Bones’ in the past and let the UFC light heavyweight champion know his opinion of him in no uncertain terms at the BodyPower health and fitness event in Birmingham.

“Hey, homeboy, how much they paying you to pretend to be a nice guy?” Lewis-Parry said while Jones was meeting fans and taking photographs.

Jones initially laughed off the insults that were being lobbed in his direction and instructed his fans to applaud the Brit.

But tempers threatened to boil over when Jones made his way closer to Lewis-Parry and told the security guard who was standing between the pair that there was no need to protect him.

“Hey, hey. Do not hold him back,” Jones said, before Lewis-Parry was dragged away.

Lewis-Parry, a GLORY kickboxing and ONE Championship heavyweight, did manage to shout out “where are your brothers now?” as he was removed from the event, a reference to his altercation with Jones’ brother behind the scenes at the UFC’s Unstoppable press conference in Las Vegas three years ago.

Jones is currently preparing for the next defence of his 205lbs title, which will come against Thiago Santos in the main event of UFC 239 in July.
