John Kavanagh, Cub Swanson and the MMA world react to Joseph Duffy’s phenomenal UFC debut

There's a new Irish UFC superstar in town

Ben Kiely

Welcome to the UFC, Joseph Duffy.

The Donegal native was in flying form during his promotional debut last night. The Tristar fighter put on a striking clinic against Jake Lindsey in the UFC 185 early prelims.

Duffy moved to 13-1 by pummelling the Librarian into submission and finishing him off with a stunning first round TKO. The MMA community was in awe of the Irish fighter as he claimed victory in his first appearance in the big leagues of the sport with ease.

Well, almost everybody. SBG head coach paid what might be construed as a back-handed compliment to the man who scored a dominant submission victory over Conor McGregor in 2010. Top featherweight Cub Swanson took the other route by complimenting Duffy while simultaneously scoring points on the Notorious.
