You want a UFC fight hyped, you call Joe Rogan.
Conor McGregor is four days away from his welterweight clash at UFC 196 and the sense of anticipation is steadily growing.
Looking ahead to this Saturday’s fight with Nate Diaz, UFC commentator Joe Rogan has given his thoughts on the Dubliner. Rogan is undoubtedly a fan.
“Conor McGregor is a combination of all the lessons everyone has ever learned about self promotion, and about positive thinking and self-belief in oneself. That’s all contained in one insane Irishman with an entire country behind him.”
Rogan, who often runs away with himself, declares McGregor is like the resurrected spirit of a Celtic warrior that has been kitted out in spandex shorts and thrown into the octagon.
Rogan claims that every single UFC fighter, past and present, are amateurs at talking the talk when compared to ‘this wild Irishman’. He continues with the highest compliment he can give to The Notorious:
“He’s really one of the first guys that we’ve had in the UFC who combines the ability to fight at a world championship level with an ability to promote that is rivalled only be Muhammad Ali or Chael Soonen.
“With all due respect to Chael Sonnen, who I always said was the greatest trash-talker of all time… I think Conor’s better.”
No doubt about it, Joe is a fan.
