Joe Rogan has just about enough of CM Punk’s attempts at a UFC debut

Not a big Punk fan

We’re all still waiting…

Joe Rogan has never been a big fan of CM Punk, and the UFC co-commentator has once again come out strongly against the idea that the former WWE wrestler should be making his mixed martial arts debut in the sport’s biggest promotion.

Punk’s long-awaited first appearance in the octagon was put on ice again last week when his scheduled welterweight bout against Mickey Gall was postponed when the 37-year-old Punk picked up a back injury in training.

And Rogan is clearly as tired of the drama surrounding Punk, claiming it is ‘ridiculous’ that an unproven fighter should be parachuted in at the highest level.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with that guy. I don’t understand this whole thing,” Rogan said on his podcast.

“Well, I also think it’s ridiculous for him to fight in the UFC. I think he should fight in a small organization. Take a fight in a small organization, build yourself up.”

The internet has also been rife with speculation that Punk, a former WWE champion, might be set for a surprise return to pro wrestling despite a very public falling out with the company.

Wrestling star John Cena posted a cryptic picture of CM Punk’s Twitter avatar on Instagram over the weekend, which might not mean anything except for the fact Cena did something very similar ahead of the debut of another wrestler, AJ Styles, in the WWE.

Whether or not Punk does make an appearance for his old employer, and chances are Cena was just messing around, it is unlikely to mean the straight edge fighter is giving up on his UFC dream just yet.
