Joe Duffy’s coach has claimed that the fans at UFC Dublin were “the stars of the night”

The best fans in the world

Many fans would have turned on the UFC after they were unable to replace the scrapped co-main event and main event of a fight card.

But, according to reports, only a few requests for refunds came from Irish fans after Joe Duffy and Stipe Miocic withdrew from UFC Dublin due to injury.

And Eric O’Keefe, one of Duffy’s coaches at Tristar, has been full of praise for how the crowd at the 3Arena two weeks ago embraced the new, injury-ravaged fight card.

Speaking to MMALatestNews.com, O’Keefe said: “It was unfortunate that Joe’s fight didn’t happen. Joe and the team were well prepared for this fight, and it was special for Joe to main event in his own country.

“I think that considering the way the card crumbled, the Irish crowd energized the place, and the fighters felt that. I’m very proud of everyone on that card, they came out and made a great show regardless of the situation. That’s what real fighters do, they step up, and every fighter on that card did just that.

“The Irish fans are the stars of the night, they’re the best in the world.”

We’ll take the compliment, thank you very much.
