Joao Carvalho was rushed to hospital shortly after competing on the inaugural Total Extreme Fighting card in Dublin on Saturday night, according to Portuguese reports.
The Portuguese fighter lost via third round TKO to SBG prospect Charlie Ward on the event's main card.
After the fight, Carvalho had a standard medical check-up in the medical office. However, according to Portugal Combat, the Nobrega Team fighter started feeling "very ill" 20 minutes later and was rushed to hospital.
His gym shared the report on their Facebook page confirming that their "athlete, warrior, friend and brother" had been hospitalised.
