It looks like it is onwwards and upwards for David Allen
After a career that has spanned adidas and Nike, today Dubliner David Allen has been promoted to a very senior spot after just over a year in the UFC. In a press release issued this morning the UFC confirm that Allen is the new General Manager of the company's operations in Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Allen joined the UFC in December 2013 as Director of Events, Marketing and Communications for the region and he was the man responsible for the smooth running of sold out events in Dublin and London in that time.
Now he has been handed to keys to the entire operation, reporting into UFC Chief Global Brand Officer Garry Cook.
In the release, Allen says: “I am grateful for the confidence the company has placed in me and I look forward to working with a great team, both here in EMEA and in our Las Vegas office, as we work together to grow the UFC business across the region.”
Allen's appointment is surely no harm to the growing number of Irish fighter in the UFC. Looks like the Irish takeover is happening inside and outside the Octagon.
