Rampage is back

It turns out that Rampage Jackson will be fighting on the UFC 186 main card this weekend.

The UFC the fan favourite has been cleared to fight for the promotion and will return Saturday to face Brazil’s Fabio Maldonado in the card’s co-main event.

A court injunction blocking Jackson’s UFC return was lifted on Tuesday, which means the former UFC light heavyweight champion will be able to fight in Montreal on Saturday. This steps back in to replace former ice hockey enforcer Steve Bosse who has been dropped from the event entirely.

Jackson will slug it out against Fabio Maldonado in a catch weight bout of 215 lbs. The fight will serve as the co-main event to the UFC Flyweight title bout between Demetrious Johnson and challenger Kyoji Horiguchi.

Dana White revealed his delight over Rampage returning to the card on Tuesday.

“We are happy with the decision from the New Jersey Court allowing Rampage to fight in Montreal this Saturday night. I am looking forward to seeing Rampage back in the Octagon.”
