Georges St-Pierre responds to Khabib Nurmagomedov's call out
Khabib Nurmagomedov wants to fight Georges St-Pierre.
After being crowned undisputed lightweight champion at UFC 223, Khabib Nurmagomedov reiterated his desire to fight Georges St-Pierre.
In his victory speech, Nurmagomedov told the masses that he wanted to fight GSP in Madison Square Garden. St-Pierre remains the greatest welterweight champion ever but recently held the middleweight strap after finishing Michael Bisping. During the post-fight press conference, Nurmagomedov explained that he wanted to give GSP the opportunity to become a three-weight world champion.
“No, please, not 170, with Georges St-Pierre? No. When I talk with my father one year ago he told me his dream fight is me vs. Georges St-Pierre. I remember when I grow up, like 11, 12 years ago, when I compete in combat sambo, junior combat sambo Dagestan championship, he fight for the UFC title."
"When I grew up, I watch his fights, all fights with my father, and he greatest athlete who ever compete in UFC. Middleweight, welterweight champion. And I hear about he want to come and fight in 155, take this belt, make history, become UFC three-division champion."

Not right now
Little is known of St-Pierre's future plans inside the Octagon. He vacated the middleweight strap just 31 days after winning it. The Canadian great claimed he relinquished the belt because he didn't want to hold up the division by sitting on the sidelines with colitis, a digestive disease he is suffering from.
However, he has indicated that he would like to fight again. That being said, it's not clear who he wants to fight for his return. Judging by what he told Ariel Helwani on Sunday, he doesn't want to fight Nurmagomedov. At least, not right now.
“I feel UFC and Khabib got unfinished business before I try to make a step in here to go for the 155 title."
